COUGAR FOUNDATION

The Cougar Foundation, which was formerly known as the Palmyra Area Education Foundation (PAEF), is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that was formed in 1991 that supports the educational opportunities of the students of the Palmyra Area School District.  Through the fundraising efforts of the Cougar Foundation, grants are awarded to support a variety of activities for students, including special materials, field trips, clubs/activities, participation in competitions, and technology.  The Cougar Foundation has supported tens of thousands of dollars since its inception.  Annual fundraisers include the Daddy-Daughter Dance, the Mother-Son Dance, and Teacher Appreciation.

The Board of Trustees of the Cougar Foundation consists of parents, community members, teachers, school board members, and the Superintendent of the Palmyra Area School District.  The current Board of Trustees is as follows:

During the 2015-2016 school year the Cougar Foundation (then PAEF) was approached with a proposal to amend their by-laws to allow a sub-committee to form within their organization.  In the Fall of 2016, the Cougar Committee was formed through a vote by the Cougar Foundation Board of Trustees and has a distinct advantage of operating within the framework of the Cougar Foundation and their 501(c)(3) status.  The Cougar Committee originated under the premise of enhancing athletic facilities for our Palmyra Cougar student-athletes including the addition of turf fields.
